This programme is for people who are employees of the National Health Service or Social Services and can be studied full time over 2 years or part time over 4 years.  The theoretical component (50%) is undertaken in the University and the practical component (50%) in a clinical setting under supervision in your chosen pathway.

The first level provides a broad base and is applicable to support workers from a wide range of health and social care disciplines.  This includes a range of modules which identify relevant material from science, health and social care policy, care practice, psychology and information communication technologies.  Students are also introduced to the concepts of evidence based practice and reflection.

At the next level all students study core modules in Learning and Assessing in Practice, Leadership, Management and Informatics and Health Promotion.

There are also 7 specialist modules at both levels for each of the pathways in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Intermediate Care and Mental Health.
